LEADING THE GREEN MOVEMENT

We at Jerat Fashion understand the importance of reducing our ecological footprint on Mother Nature, and remain committed to environmentally sustainable apparel manufacture.

LEED CERTIFICATION

All Jerat Fashion units are LEED Gold certified green factories, signaling our commitment to sound environmental principals within the communities we operate in. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system developed by the U.S Green Building Council (USBGC) has helped us work within the boundaries of an ecologically sustainable model that brings us a step closer to growing the green building movement.

PLAN A

Jerat Fashion all units are M&S Plan A certified, echoing our pledge towards waste reduction, ethical trade and the use of sustainable raw materials to combat climate change and work towards a sustainable future for new generations. Therefore, every M&S product manufactured at our facilty has green attributes.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

All Jerat Fashion facilities operate within a ZERO WASTE TO LANDFILL policy to ensure that waste and factory by-products are recycled and reused with 0% going to landfills.we are using garbage fired boiler to recycle waste.

Our comprehensive waste management policy extends over multiple areas.
 

  •     Fabric Waste : All fabric off cuts and waste is collected, sorted and sent for recycling
  •     Plastic Waste : All plastic waste is collected and recycled at the Anwar Plastic Recycling Mill in Kathgor and used in the manufacture of rubber products.
  •     Food Waste : All food waste from our canteens is sent to the Gonopoti Shebak Pig Farm in Chittagong, with some being used for composting as well
  •     Paper Waste : Our waste papers and cartons are recycled at the Hakkani Paper Mill in Kalurghat, Chittagong
  •     Construction Waste : We recycle & reuse all construction debris and all iron scraps are recycled at the Bangladeshi Steel Re-rolling Mill (BSRM) in Nasirabad.
  •     Glass Waste : We recycle all our glass waste at the Usmania Glass Sheet Factory inKalurghat, Chittagong
  •     Disposal of Bulbs: We ensure that the mercury in used bulbs is properly disposed of by working with Bulb Eater.
